Visits
PostHog counts visits for us and stores them in the EU: the page, the page you came from, your browser and device. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. To tell visitors apart within a day it uses a hash of your IP address and browser that changes daily, and it doesn't keep the IP address.
Vercel hosts the site and keeps server logs (IP address, page, time, browser) to run and protect it.
Newsletter
If you sign up, Buttondown stores your email address and sends the newsletter. Every issue has an unsubscribe link, or write to hello@whatpeoplemade.com to be removed.
X and Google
Pictures, profile photos and videos load from X's servers and the fonts from Google Fonts, so X and Google see your IP address when a page opens. On a video page, X's embedded post loads as the page opens and X may set cookies: see X's privacy policy.
Posts shown here
The site shows public posts from X: the author's name, handle, profile photo and post, with a link to the original. If one is yours and you want it removed, write to hello@whatpeoplemade.com.
Legal basis and your rights
Visit counts, server logs and the posts shown rest on our legitimate interest in running and measuring the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), the newsletter on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. Vercel, Buttondown, X and Google are US companies; data that goes to them is covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU's standard contractual clauses.
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its use, and complain to a data protection authority.
