An interactive teardown of an 8-GPU AI server

0xbobaa built a browser-based 8-GPU AI server that you can take apart, prompt, and break on purpose—pull a fan to overheat GPUs, remove a GPU, or cut power to see what happens. The simulation shows how tokens stream across GPUs.

I JUST BUILT "WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HIT ENTER ON AI" WITH OPUS 5.5 + /COLORFIGURES

everyone uses AI chat. almost nobody has seen the machine that answers

so i asked Claude to draw one you can take apart:

• an 8-GPU AI server, every part labelled: fans, GPUs, HBM memory, NVSwitch, NIC, power supplies
• send a prompt and watch tokens stream out of 8 GPUs at once
• break it on purpose: pull a fan and the GPUs overheat and throttle, pull one GPU and nothing runs, pull a power supply and it keeps going

the numbers on the panel are a sim. the parts and the way they connect are real
