11 photos, one agent, 57 minutes. that's all this BIM model took.
no plans, no building records, nothing you couldn't get yourself.
AI can build 3D models, sure. most of them are useless for planning though. shells with no wall layers, no material thickness, no components with properties.
the obvious route is plugging an existing CAD program into an agent over MCP. but those programs grew over decades for humans with a mouse. how they store and edit a model barely matches what a language model reads and writes well.
so we built a CAD program for the agent. it never draws plans. floor plans, sections and elevations come out of the model automatically, with existing, demolition and new build marked.
facade only, 11 fisheye photos don't give you more. early stage, a few small errors still in there.

Agent turns 11 photos into a BIM model in 57 minutes
Jan-Peter Franke built a CAD program designed for an AI agent: it never draws plans, but automatically produces floor plans, sections and elevations from 11 fisheye photos, with wall layers, material thickness and component properties. Early stage, with a few small errors.
