I tested Kimi K3.1 Pro by asking it to turn a PDF manual into an interactive 3D assembly guide.
The one-shot result was honestly impressive.
The manual is for a Bluetooth speaker kit my kid is building. All I gave the model was the PDF and a one-line prompt.
Every part became its own 3D object, from the PCB and chips to the speaker and every little screw.
The assembly steps became animations you can play one at a time. Click a part to see its label and specs, and jump to the step where it goes in.
It also built an exploded view and a switch between line art and real materials. There's even a power button that plays a tune, with the speaker cone and LEDs responding to the actual audio.
1. But the first pass got some things wrong.
The case screws went in from the wrong direction. In the real kit, they go straight down from the top.
The PCB sat flat. I had to adjust its angle to make it look closer to the real assembly.
Fixing both took a lot of back and forth. The video shows the final version.
2. The other problem is speed.
The one-shot took almost 20 minutes. GPT 6 Astra did the same task in just over 6. That's just one comparison, but the difference was hard to miss.
Overall, k3.1 pro is very strong at 3D and understanding how physical parts fit together.

A PDF manual became an interactive 3D speaker assembly guide
Kai Wang asked Kimi K3.1 Pro to turn a Bluetooth speaker kit PDF into an interactive 3D assembly guide for their kid, with step animations, an exploded view and a working power button. The first one-shot pass had screw-direction errors and took 20 minutes; GPT 6 Astra did it in 6.
